Newsletter 12.11.21

Newsletter week ending 12th November

Dear Parents/carers,

A big thank you to those of you who made a telephone appointment with your child’s class teacher. If you haven’t made an appointment yet please contact the school office or contact the teacher using class dojo. I’m sure you will want to know how well your child has settled into their new class and what you can do to support their learning at home.

Congratulations to Mayer in Year 5 who has won our character competition. She has created a fabulous Bee to remind the children of the four core purposes of the new curriculum 2022. Llongafarchiadau Mayer! You’ll be sure to see Bee popping up around school over the next few weeks!

Inset Day

There will be an INSET day for staff training on Tuesday 4th January and children will return to school on Wednesday 5th January.

Numeracy and play

Mrs Glass and some of our nursery parents had another brilliant morning this week. They have been working together learning about subitising for our youngest children. Please come along of you have a child in nursery. The nursery children will be joining their parents for part of the morning, which is a highlight of their morning!

Family Learning

We held our second family learning session on Tuesday afternoon. We have altered the time to 1.30pm until 3pm and will be held in  the Nursery. If you have a little one, please come along with them and join in the sessions. We will be looking at online safety for children, setting screen times, parent settings and keeping children and young people safe at home. Free tea and coffee will be available!

Scooters

If you are having a sort out before Christmas and have any unwanted bikes or scooters that could be used and played with on our Foundation phase yard please bring them into school. All donations gratefully received!

Christmas Dinner

We need to provide the catering department with Christmas dinner numbers. This year the children will have a traditional turkey Christmas dinner instead of the party box that was quite popular last year. Mrs Seager will be sending out order slips over the next week. Please help us by returning these to school as soon as possible. Many thanks!

Christmas

Thank you to those who have sent in raffle prize donations already. We will be selling Christmas raffle tickets all through December and more information  will follow! If you work for a local company that might like to donate a prize, please let me know.

We will also hold the Christmas present wrapping stall so if you have any unwanted gift sets or new bits and bobs that could be a nice gift for a parent please send it into school before 3rd December. All donations gratefully received!

Children in need day- 19th November
