Newsletter 26.11.21

Newsletter 26th November

Dear Parents/carers,

The Christmas season is upon us and the children are working so hard learning new songs, actions and narrator parts ready for their performance. I know that I am very excited to see them all do their best and thank you in advance for supporting us by providing costumes and following the covid safe rules.

One ticket for the performance will be allocated to each child at a cost of £2 per ticket. These will be available from the class teacher when they are ready. Your child’s class teacher will pass on this information over the next week so look out for class dojo messages.

Christmas present stall

We will be holding the annual Christmas present wrapping stall on Friday 10th December so if you have any unwanted gift sets or new bits and bobs that could be a nice gift for a parent, please send it into school before 3rd December. All donations are gratefully received!

Pupil Voice Elections

This week was the first time we have held elections for our pupil voice groups. Each child in Key Stage 2 was encouraged to take part in the election and many wrote a speech to persuade their classmates to vote for them. Mrs Rees our chair of governors attended the event and helped at the ballot station. Our year 5 reporters live-streamed the event across the school and interviewed candidates and voters throughout the morning. The results were announced in assembly on Tuesday and the children elected were delighted! More information from each of the teams will be shared with you over the coming weeks. Watch this space!

Car parking

We have had several complaints from local residents over the last week regarding inconsiderate parents parking in car parking bays. I would like to ask the small minority of parents to be respectful of our neighbours and park legally and safely. Please use the North road entrance or St David’s close if the car park is congested. Many thanks.

Hot meals

Thank you for your patience regarding the hot meal situation. Unfortunately, due to staff shortages, we have been advised to provide packed lunch bags for our children who are entitled to free school meals. I hope that the catering department will be able to provide hot meals next week so I will keep you informed as soon as we have any further information.
